Re: Today’s been an enlightening day

Okay first of all, let it be said, I’ve tried it. Listening to people. You know what? Frick’in waste of time.
The peace of inner Zen was fun while it lasted, but now that I finally paid attention to people I found out it’s all just a bunch of crap you’d never consider reasonable if not for the peer pressure. “Go all in” they said “he’s bluffing” they chimed. Bluffing my ass, Tim cleaned my clock. Took me all night just to get my money back and even then I had to split the pot with him.
Things I learned that night:
- Never listen to the girlfriend of the guy you’re playing poker with. Or the black guy standing next to her. Or the Vietnamese guy behind you. Or anyone else in particular. They’re all out to get you.
- Stop being Korean. Seriously, when someone insults you, don’t throw all your money in the pot to overcompensate. Overcompensate by winning and using the cash to buy yourself a large truck. Then do donuts in their driveways while making out with their loved ones.
- Don’t drink so much, even if you’re a master of drunken fu, you end up embarrassing yourself.
- Stop bleeding money. It puts people off balance, which is good because they either get too cautious or too greedy, but, don’t forget, you’re still bleeding money.
- Learn some dignity. That way people don’t feel so bad when they lose to you.
In other news, I started playing World of Warcraft again. This may very well be my last entry as it is very likely no one will ever hear from me for the next 20 years at which point I will appear in a halfway home in Uganda muttering gibberish to myself. Seriously, I’ve been playing nonstop since I got it Friday. Burned all of Saturday. Like it never happened. I forgot how much of a problem I have with addictive video games, cannot let it control my life this time… this time… this time… >_< i'm doomed.
Did a raid with the tantau group. Lot of fun, I remembered why I started playing WoW and why I quit, it's a group game, everything else is just lame. My rogue sucks tho, so there's a good chance I will not be replacing Chieze on the starting lineup.
Was able to get away from my computer long enough to feed and bathe myself, and to do this:
The shape of the hair is terrible, as is some of the shading, but overall, there’s a lot more potential. Doesn’t have the flair or control Jess has, but overall I’m starting to see potential in myself, feeling more confident about my ability. I’ve been Sharingan’ing her line work, which has in turn improved mine, except I can’t show that one since the scanner doesn’t pick it up too well. My only reservation is that it’s not really drawing, all i do is outline an object and shade it with tone. Very comic booky. Looking for alternative drawing method to produce more compelling work.
Other than that, I guess the subject of dating has come up fairly frequently. I’ll make that it’s own post at some later time.
Laundry List:
- Reschedule guitar lessons. Teacher is a slacker.
- Plan for wine tasting/concert/comic con next weekend
- Work out parental controls on WoW, DO NOT LET INTERFERE WITH WORK AND WORK OUT SCHEDULE
- Actually do some work at work for a change.

LOL this is the most hilarious blog post I’ve ever seen.
I’m worried that your Korean heritage predisposes you to playing Blizzard games at the neglect of your health, mental well-being, and friendships. Please use parental control.
